UB police has shed some light on the events which took place last week in the Metropolis nightclub. A police raid had been reported to have taken place around 2 a.m in the nightclub, with 20 policemen body searching everyone. No reasons why had been provided by police forces at the time.

T. Sainjargal, spokesman of General Police, has confirmed that last week’s raid in Metropolis was made after police had received information that drugs were sold and used there. He denied that all guests at the club had been searched and said police suspected only a specific group of people. The arrested man was in possession of banned substances, but not of any large amount.

Sainjargal also announced that the police will take steps against an advertisement showing a uniformed policeman drinking Jalam Khar beer, recalling it is illegal to drink alcohol when one is in police uniform. Metropolis nightclub’s dancers wear police uniforms. If the usual policy of not drinking at work is enforced among the Metropolis’ staff, the question remains to know if it is legal to wear a police uniform and dance.
