Damdin Sukhbaatar - one of the founders of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) and military leader of the 1921 revolution - was a member of one of the two secret groups that were to merge in the early 1920 and become the MPP (Mongolian People’s Army).
The MPRP was founded in March 1, 1921 and was the ruling party of the Mongolian People’s Republic during 75 straight years from 1921 to 1996 – during which no other political parties were allowed – and from 2000 to 2004.
Among the officials present at the ceremony were Parliament Speaker D. Demberel, Prime Minister S. Batbold, Deputy Premier M. Enkhbold, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces, the Citizens Representative Meeting of the Capital City, and the Ulaanbaatar Mayor Office.
